Creosote buildup from heavy winter burning
Why it happens here
Ruskin Heights winters are long and cold, and most homeowners burn wood daily from November through March. That volume of burning produces creosote faster than occasional use would. Cooler flue temperatures on exterior chimneys make it worse.
Our approach
We match the brush type to the creosote stage. Light deposits get a standard flue brush. Glazed deposits get a Sooteater rotary brush and, if needed, a chemical treatment. We show you the before-and-after camera footage so you know the flue is actually clean.
