Stage 3 glazed creosote in wood stove flues
Why it happens here
Wood stoves run hotter and burn longer than fireplaces, and many Glendale homeowners use them as a primary heat source. That combination builds creosote fast, and glazed creosote is the hardest to remove.
Our approach
We use a wire brush and hand scraper on glazed deposits, then apply a creosote sweeping log treatment when needed. We also check the stovepipe and thimble, where creosote often hides. If the flue is badly glazed, we recommend a professional cleaning before you burn again.
