Creosote buildup from heavy winter burning
Why it happens here
Little Blue winters push fireplaces into daily use from November through March. Burning wood that is not fully seasoned makes it worse. Creosote accumulates faster here than in milder climates and can reach stage 3 by mid-winter.
Our approach
We brush and scrape the flue on every sweep and check creosote thickness with an inspection camera. If buildup is heavy, we schedule a follow-up and show you how to burn cleaner. We also recommend an annual chimney sweep before the season starts.
